Story: "The Will of the Time Traveler" by Mikel Withers
Music: Kerry Kelso Genre: Science Fiction, Strange Rating: PG
Okay, so I was arguing with this guy, online. I was saying how stupid the idea of time travel was: even if you could travel through time, the galaxy would move out from under you. You’d end up miles out in space or miles underground, and I have no idea which would be worse. My opponent sent me a link to a website claiming to give a step by step instruction for making a working time machine. Ludicrous, of course, but he wouldn’t concede the argument unless I tried it in good faith.

Story: "Cat" by Jesse Rice
Genre: Science Fiction, Mystery Rating: G
There once was a cat. There once was a cat, in space. There once was a cat, in space, named Cat. Cat learned many things as she grew, but she never learned how she knew her name was Cat. She never knew her parents, she never knew anyone while she existed floating in space. Still, somehow, she knew she was named Cat. But how? That was the greatest question of her life, and she devoted her life to solving it.

Shimmering white hair danced around her head, the strands like banners of light shifting with the rhythm of the dark wind. Warm air whipped at her skin with intense prejudice, the night’s single desire for her to die. To Pearl’s dismay, immortals could not be killed by mere wind, otherwise she would have been put out of her misery long before this moment.

The Corridigan Galactic Cruiser, Shmargee VinDarr cut through space like a hot knife through butter, except easier because there was less resistance from empty space than a knife, even a hot one, meets with butter.

Church bells ring out faintly in the distance, clanging to the melody of an old church hymn I learned in my youth. I cannot remember the words nor the name of the tune, and besides, the ringing bells do nothing to comfort my wounded spirit or quench my thirst, so why would I bother myself with such semantics?
